These handles are made first and foremost for the flight attendants to hold in case of panic onboard. They have to make sure that no one panics or loses control in a tricky situation!
Hooks on the wings
In most the planes that exist, to use an emergency exit slide, passengers have to step onto a smooth and slippery wing. Now understand how this entire things works. To make this easier, a special hook was designed: a safety rope is led through it, with one end attached to the door and the other hooked to the wing at the base of the slide. Holding on to the rope, passengers can safely evacuate.
Unlock the lavatory door
If your child accidentally locks themselves in the airplane bathroom, to unlock the door from the outside, lift the "LAVATORY" sign and slide the knob into the unlocked position. Now this sounds super cool, doesn't it?
