Dr. Kieron O’Connor had published a research work at Journal of Behavior Therapy and Experimental Psychiatry,where he says that such people are rather perfectionist and not nervous. He further continues, "We believe that individuals with these repetitive behaviors may be perfectionistic, meaning that they are unable to relax and to perform tasks at a normal pace. They are therefore prone to frustration, impatience, and dissatisfaction when they do not reach their goals."

#3 The Case Study.
They'd examined on 48 subjects out of which half of the participants were prone to nail biting nature. Their emotional and organisational behaviour were studied.
The ones who were organizationally perfectionist, possessed a common habit of biting off their nails. All of them were overtime work lovers and during the times of no work or boredrum, the emptiness made them irritated resulting to them bite their nails quite often.

Sarah Roberts, who had helped Dr. Kieron with the research work says, "These findings suggest that individuals suffering from body-focused repetitive behaviors could benefit from treatments designed to reduce frustration and boredom and to modify perfectionist beliefs."
