#3 War
The war that has engulfed Syria is nothing new to us. We constantly read, hear and see about the constant devastation that people in Syria are facing.
Homeless, terrorized beyond comparison and constantly living in the fear for their safety and that of their dear ones, has made life in Syria a living hell.
Here is one story from the war diaries that will move your heart without a doubt.
#2 White Helmets
During the weekend, a video appeared from Syria where a first responder pulled a baby from under a building after digging for 2 hours to save the one-month-old baby.
The first responders are a part of the Syrian Civil Defence which comprises entirely of civilians and volunteers. The Syrian Civil Defence are also known as the white helmets.
The White Helmets were able to rescue the baby girl and a woman, who were trapped beneath the
building after an airstrike. They had been under the crushing weight of the structure for two hours.
But when they finally managed to free the baby and woman, the baby showed no response. But one rescuer refused to give up on her and continued to hold the baby while rocking back and forth...praying she were alive...
And the baby?
#1 Tears
The rescuer burst into tears when the baby started to cry. They said it was a miracle that the baby did not have any wounds at all.
"Thank God, she doesn't have one wound, no wounds at all,"the rescue worker says in the video. "Thank God. When I carried her I felt like she was my daughter. The guys and I, the team that worked with me, we were three or four who took her out and then I carried her on my own and brought her to the hospital. I felt like she was my daughter. I hugged her tight. She moved me deeply."
