The biggest mall in America has just announced that come this year's Thanksgiving, it will remain closed in order to provide it's employees the time and opportunity to spend the day with their family.
This decision comes as a surprise to shoppers everywhere especially when retailers and shopping centers make it a special effort to remain open on Thanksgiving to gain that extra competitive edge by giving the shoppers a jumpstart on their holiday shopping.

#2 Notice
The mall sent out a notice to all its employees and tenants that this year will be different. And that many of its operations, as much as it can and in the MOA's 24 years of operation, the Nickelodeon Universe and the movie theaters will be closed for Thanksgiving.
But it has still provided it's retailers and tenants the option of staying open if they want too.

"We've been talking about this for months, looking at the numbers, looking at the pros and the cons," said Jill Renslow, the mall's senior vice president of marketing and business development. "We're excited to give this day back to our employees so they can celebrate with their families."
They also clarified that the annual Walk to End Hunger fundraiser will still go on ahead as planned on Thanksgiving.
