Since then 45 other countries followed Sweden's policy to ban spanking, but America didn't. Spanking and corporal punishment is allowed in around 19 states in America.

In 2010 the harvesting, cultivation, production and sale of all tobacco products was completely banned in Bhutan, whereas in other some countries tobacco products are only shown when the customer requests for it. The idea behind this was that people would avoid using tobacco product if they cannot see the product. In America consumption of tobacco products is legal and it is not difficult to find a place where you can buy tobacco products

In 2002 Bangladesh was the first country to ban the use of plastic bags and within a short period of time many other countries also banned the use of plastic bags. Plastic bags were banned as it was difficult to dispose and recycle them, they are a huge threat to the marine life and plastic bags damage our environment. Even some cities and some states of California have banned the use of plastic bags but still you can get a plastic bag in America.

Singapore was the first country to ban the import and sale of chewing gums in 1992 although the consumption of chewing gums wasn't banned. you can buy chewing gum's from a doctor with proper prescription and there is a 500$ fine for spitting gums on the streets. You can get a chewing gum in America but be a good citizen and don't spit it on the street.

Iran's Ministry of Culture banned mullets hairstyle in 2010 along with some other hairstyles such as spikes and ponytails.The Ministry didn't want Iranian youth to follow western fashion culture. The Ministry also thought these hairstyles were immodest, Whereas in America you have the freedom to maintain any hairstyle you want.
