One is not allowed to take photos of the poor in North Korea. Lafforgue said he tried explaining to the officials accompanying him that Poverty exists across the world. They forbade him nevertheless.

This picture shows a man in an army uniform carrying logs of wood. The army is often employed in mental jobs, locals say.

Malnutrition was very common among children and Lafforgue managed to get this gut wrenching one across to the world.
