Takanoyama ShuntarÅ is originally from Prague, Czech Republic. Becoming the first man from Czech Republic to take up professional Sumo in Japan.
This 31-year-old Czech became a Sumo rockstar while weighing at 216 pounds.
He made his entry into Japanese sports scene through Judo
Which is also a Japanese military craftsmanship. Sumo is a huge thing as it is in Japan in Czech Republic. His first entry into the ring was at age 17. And it didn't take long for people to notice his Sumo capabilities.

#1 He won the bronze award at the 2000 Junior World Sumo Championships in Tokyo.
His win in the championship secured him a spot within the Naruto stables. A highly prestigious and semi-mysterious heya(a sumo training facility). And thereby securing the foundation for his famous sumo wrestling career.
Despite the huge weight difference, he proved to be a gifted Sumo wrestler.
